Mayfair Rocks in the upscale hamlet of EastHampton, New York is the latest jewelry store to showcase Billy Belack's designs. The South Beach hotelier, who co-owns Miami Beach’s art-driven St. Augustine Hotel, has been seriously designing pieces for four years and formally began his company, Belack Design, Inc. two years ago. He hopes to eventually trade in his front desk duties for a full time career as a jewelry designer and producer in the near future.
Belack’s earrings, necklaces and rings incorporate 18kt gold, semi-precious and precious stones. “It’s taken me some time to zero in on a style that would give my designs an identity of their own in the marketplace,” admits Belack. But his hard work has paid off. He plans to complete a large scale collection by early 2010.
