Maison Moschino
One of the most imaginative hotels we've seen in a long time, Milan's Maison Moschino reminds us of Miami's cutting-edge Delano hotel when the Delano was considered unique; but Maison Moschino is about 12 levels beyond. Developed from an 1840’s neo-classical railway station on Milan’s Viale Monte Grappa 12, the Maison Moschino allows guests to entertain their fantasies.
This newest concept hotel from the renowned Moschino fashion label is a dream come to life. The hotel, divided into 4 floors, with 63 guestrooms and 2 junior suites, is all imagination and surrealism. For instance, this room (below) is all ribbons and color.
In another room, rose petals fall lightly from the chandelier while others cover the bed; in another, guests will feel as though they really are sleeping in the enormous ballgown that flowingly transitions from the bedboard down. How divine to know that invention and imagination are still all around us.
Marcel Wanders' World of Wonder
A favorite of visiting celebrities, fashionistas and visual artists whose names you might actually recognize, Miami's Mondrian hotel was designed from head to toe by Dutch designer and visionary conceptualist, Marcel Wanders.
The 335-room hotel-and-condo development overlooking Biscayne Bay, is all drama and Alice in Wonderland fantasy with over-sized everything: a laser-cut steel staircase, flower vases, beds and pillows. The hotel also features secret "kissing gardens"; bathrooms with showerheads embedded in chandeliers; lush gardens and pools and spectacular bay views.
